Mirsal works closely with the City of Helsinki and partner organisations to reach Arabic-speaking communities, particularly in East Helsinki. As part of the OmaStadi process, we will actively visit NGOs and organise community events to support and encourage participation in the voting period.

🗳️ Voting period: 11.03.2026 – 29.03.2026
As the voting takes place during Ramadan, activities will include community iftars, an Eid celebration, and pop-up events. All activities will be shared on our social media channels.

OmaStadi is Helsinki’s participatory budgeting programme, where residents decide how the city allocates €10 million. Proposals were collected in autumn 2025, followed by city evaluation and cost estimates. In March 2026, residents vote on the proposals, and the city will implement those that receive the most votes.
